Art Oberto
Art Oberto was thrust at the helm of the company at the early age of 16 after the sudden death of his father. Art and his mother kept the tiny business alive while Art completed high school. Fortunately, Art is a natural born entrepreneur with incredible energy to support his vision. Back then, as he does to this day, he sleeps and lives Oh Boy! Oberto.
Art is also a natural born marketer. From the Jerky mobile, to rubber pencils and red-white-and-green poppers, to his signature four-color "stolen" pens, Art has been a brand builder. He built the Oberto Sausage Company on the philosophy, "Have Fun", and he has lived his life and run his business by that guiding principle.
One of Art's most unique marketing tools in the early days was hydroplaning. For 18 years, Oberto Sausage Company sponsored a red-white-and-green "pepperoni-powered" hydroplane, that lodged the Oberto Sausage Company brand permanently in the hearts of race fans everywhere. And, where Art is concerned, you can't race a hydroplane properly without lots of Oberto "HAVE FUN" stickers and Oberto Sausage Company hydroplane buttons.
Today, he serves as Chairman of the Board, still providing valuable input and keeping the "Have Fun" philosophy alive and well at the Oberto Sausage Company.
